How we put the eco in ecoLinen

ecoLinen was founded on three simple things: sustainability, quality, and the health of your family. For more than 20 years we've made GOTS certified organic cotton bedding for Australia's finest resorts and the homes of people who care what they sleep in.

A linen love story

It started with a search that came up empty. When we went looking for genuinely organic, beautifully made linen, we simply couldn't find it anywhere. So we decided to make it ourselves. It turned out to be pretty darned hard back then, and we had a huge journey ahead — sourcing certified organic cotton, finding growers we could trust, and building a supply chain we could stand behind from the very first thread.

Our partners in design

We work directly with organic cotton growers in India, managing the entire journey from the farmers who plant the seed through to the linen delivered to your door. Cutting out the middlemen means our growing partners are paid fairly and our customers pay a fair price too. These are relationships we've nurtured for decades — not transactions, but genuine partnerships built on shared values.

Why what we do still matters so much

Conventional cotton is one of the most chemically dependent crops on earth. Genetically modified seed locks farmers into cycles of dependency, while the pesticides and fertilisers used to grow it harm the people in the fields, the surrounding communities, and the waterways they rely on. GOTS certification is our answer. It guarantees the cotton is organically grown and that every step — from farm to finished sheet — meets strict environmental and social standards, so the people who make your bedding are treated fairly and the land is left healthier than we found it.

Our organic-obsessed founders

Tim and Jen are nature-loving New Zealanders now based on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. What began as frustration at not being able to buy the bedding they believed in became a lifelong mission to change the cotton industry for the better — one certified organic thread at a time. That obsession is still what gets us up in the morning.
